About us
Žiaromat a.s. was founded in 1890 in the Ipeľská kotlina development zone near the town of Lučenec and covers an area of 10,000 m² with proven reserves of refractory clay amounting to 1,000,000 tons and an annual mining capacity of 20,000 tons. More than 66% of this is high-quality refractory clay with an Al2O3 content of 32%. High-quality refractory clay is an important raw material for the production of top-quality refractory and fireclay products. Large-scale surface mining is significantly more efficient, as it substantially reduces the production cost of refractory clay, which creates a solid foundation for Žiaromat a.s. to continue to be a stable manufacturer of refractory products and a strategic partner for steelworks and foundries in Europe.
